It all started in 2017 when our autistic son was around four years old. We wanted to find an extracurricular activity for him but knew that a traditional team sport wouldn’t be the best fit. However, we still wanted him to experience the social benefits of being part of a group. That’s when we decided to create a bowling league specifically for autistic children.
What began with just a few kids has grown significantly over the years. But the most meaningful growth has been in the children themselves—building social skills, learning to take turns, waiting patiently, celebrating each other’s successes with high-fives, and striving to improve their game.
Parents have also found a strong sense of community, connecting with and supporting one another. Inspired by the profound impact of this league, we’re excited to expand this sense of belonging into other activities, creating even more opportunities for growth, connection, and joy.
